First Metal Detecting Hunt of 2018 and I find some silver... WOW!
So, we got a break in the weather and I knew it would be a good day to get my detector out of the closet, change the batteries and get back to swinging... I decided to visit an old faithful spot that would at least provide some good targets to dig just so I could get back into the swing of things.

The site is a High School that was built in the 20's and was turned into an adult school after the city's population grew too big to really use it for anything else.

Normally, just the perimeter is available to hunt as they close off all of the fields, the sports facilities and adjoining walkways... BUT TODAY someone left one of the maintenance gates OPEN and I took advantage to hunt an area that I have never hunted... an old area too.

I ended up with a lot of coins and some rash as usual, but I scored my first silver of the year - a beautiful 1942 D Mercury Dime!!
